Our Small Groups are a dynamic part of our ministry, adapting to the ever-changing needs and interests of our communities.

Book Series: Angela Davis' Are Prisons Obsolete? - Aug. 20-Sept. 10, Saturdays at 10AM-11:30AM PT on Zoom

Join us for a 4-part small group book series of Angela Davis' "Are Prisons Obsolete?" We'll delve into the carceral system in the US, its impact on culture, and how it's represented in the media and in dominant society. Are there alternatives?

 

Participants are invited to read Chapter 1 prior to our first session. The book is available for ordering online and pdf versions are available for download for free.

Talk Story - Every 2nd Wednesday at 7PM-8:30PM PT on Zoom

Talk story is a Hawaiian expression meaning to chit-chat, converse, share experiences, and be in community with one another. In our version of this much-loved tradition, each person will share a 3-5 minute story from everyday life in a relaxed, supportive setting.

Prime Timers (Intergenerational, uplifting the sharing of older adults) - 3rd Fridays of the Month at 10AM on Zoom

Meets every 3rd Friday of the month from 10AM to 12 Noon. Join us for informal conversation & study on matters of faith, spirituality, and the state of our world. Come share your insights and experiences; try your assumptions, questions, and thoughts on God and theology in an affirming intergenerational community. This space centers the sharing of older adults, but everyone is welcome. Feel free to bring your breakfast or brunch!

LGBTQ Bible Study (LGBTQ+ people and Allies, uplifting the sharing of LGBTQ+ BIPOC)

BIPOC (Black Indigenous People of Color) LGBTQ+ people and allies are invited to a time of scripture exploration, spiritual sharing and fellowship at Pine UMC. We'll have a few healthy snacks.
